About

The Hai is a collective of musicians from different parts of the world; having joined together with the intent of helping each other produce, promote, and release their music. Currently there are 16 members of the Hai — Blingley, Hifi Banjo Strings, Flying Batteries, Kent Daleng, mattir, Maximillian, New Dark Age, New Motive Power, A Problem Like Maria, Rekapper, Snailhead, somnitone, Stratosfear, Viktor Disque, and Water Gun Water Gun Sky Attack — hailing from Brazil, Finland, Germany, Norway, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The latest LP and EP releases by the good people of the Hai are tracked by the site’s sidebar, seen on the right. A partial list is also available at the Selected Discography section. As a group, the Hai releases official compilations every few months, typically featuring a theme and collaborations between members. There is also a series of “Unnecessary Remixes” the Hai puts out from time to time, designed to be quick exercises in which with every participant takes from the same sample pack to produce a song. The compilations and the “Unnecessary Remixes” can be downloaded for free at the Group Releases section.
